Ryan Sandefur on "The New Neighbor"

Earlier this month we launched a Kickstarter campaign for The New Neighbor - a horror / mystery / erotic thriller starring Ryan Sandefur.

The film is about a college student & her brother (Ky Mahone) who notice a puzzling epidemic sweeping their neighborhood timed to the arrival of a new neighbor. Everyone starts to turns pale, they act anemic, they avoid sunlight and they might have a strange bite mark on their neck. They become convinced that the new neighbor is slowly turning everyone into vampires. To complicate matters, sis finds herself inexplicably drawn to the neighbor's son (Ryan Sandefur). Is she a moth being drawn to the film? Or is there a greater evil at work?

Instead of just focusing on vampires biting people, I wanted to focus on things such as secrecy, mystery, living beneath the grid, emotional vampirism, and sexuality - all things inherent to vampires.

However, in order to bring this film to life, we need people to contribute to our Kickstarter campaign. For as low as $3, you will get a Thanks credit in the film. For those that contribute, you will be pre-ordering (purchasing) a variety of stuff including a DVD screener, artwork by either Travis Caverhill or Patrick M. Young, or even cam to cam time with star Ryan Sandefur and much more!

So far we have raised 25% of our goal, but with Kickstarter it is ALL or NOTHING. Ryan Sandefur took a moment from his schedule to sit down and talk about the campaign as well as to talk about the perks of being a vampire. So check out the video and feel free to leave a comment. The First's of 'Urban Legends'

'Urban Legends' (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2232392/) is my very first film that I wrote & produced. It is an anthology based feature length horror film in which all of the segments are based off of urban legends, including the wraparound segment.

With 'Urban Legends' there was a lot of firsts that occurred on set. Here's just a sampling of some of those firsts:

-Fitness model Ryan Sandefur made his feature length film debut.
-Ky Mahone made his film debut as well.
-Jason Zahdonik & Amanda-Elizabeth Sawyer had their first dramatic leading roles.
-This was the first film that Kaylee Williams filmed in 2013, where she got to keep on all of her clothing.
-The was the first time that scream queen Heather Dorff did on screen nudity.
-This was the first time that actor/comedian Spencer Harlan got to showcase his ability as a comedian in a film, by being allowed to write all of his own material for the stand up comedy scenes in the film.
-This was the first time that director Travis Legge has ever had to film a penis. We wanted equal opportunity nudity, meaning that we had some nudity in the film for the guys, but a little bit for the ladies as well (...and men).
-This was the first time that actress Aley Kreinz has worked outside of the Chicago area.

Truth or Dare (2013)

'Truth or Dare (2013)' is an anthology based horror film from BDHR Entertainment. For more info on this project, please visit the IMDB page:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2325096/fullcredits#cast

Conception:

With 'Truth or Dare', I wanted to create an anthology based off the idea of people being punished for their indiscretions. Tying this anthology together, even more so, is Ryan Sandefur's character of Jason, who appears in all four segments. Jason is a bit of a douchbag. We see how his character evolves in each of the segments and seems to somehow avoid being caught up in these dangerous situations, until fate rears its ugly head!

Cast:

'Truth or Dare' has an all star cast including:

-Sierra Holmes (Scream Queens: Season 2)
-Ronnie Kroell (Make me a Super Model: Season 1 & Eating Out 4)
-Ryan Sandefur
-Kit Williamson
-Kaylee Williams (Slices of Life)
-Quentin Fielding
-Spencer Harlan (Throwing Stones)
-Richard Cutting
-Jenna St. John
-Amanda-Elizabeth Sawyer
-Alisa Lova
-Gita M. Mccarthy

Fat Kid Massacre: The Short Film Version

ABOUT:

Fat Kid Massacre: The Short Film Version is about Ian, a former fat kid who lost all the weight, who is now taunted and teased by his former friends - The Fat Bullies.

However, a killer is going to make sure that 'The Fat Bullies' pay for picking on Ian, one fat kid at a time.

BACKSTORY:

I always had the idea of making a slasher film involving fat kids in the back of my mind, but I wasn't sure on how to execute it. After working with Ryan Sandefur on two feature length films, the idea sprang to mind - "What if Ryan used to be fat?". From that notion, I started developing a character centered around Ryan who used to be a former fat kid who lost all the weight and is now bullied for doing so.

A common theme that you will see throughout my work is that I like to play on opposites. What I mean by that, is that in this case you would expect to see the fat kids be the ones who are bullied. However, in this case, it is the skinny, muscular guy who is made fun of instead.

PURPOSE:

I made 'Fat Kid Massacre: The Short Film Version' with the direct purpose of using it as a teaser as to what we could be capable of if this was made into a feature length film.

It was created to draw up some buzz for a feature length version and to assist in the fundraising process.

BEHIND THE SCENES:

I starred in this film and let me tell you, I was nervous as hell! I do not like being in front of the camera what so ever. I can tell you, I was so nervous to the point that I could not even remember my own lines. I would actually have to grab a script in between takes and look over my lines, even though I wrote the material!

I was also nervous about pushing Ryan to the ground and spitting on him. Ryan had done an incredible job over the summer working for 'BDHR Entertainment', so it was really hard for me to have to be the one pushing him to the ground over and over again. I'm a genuinely nice person, so it was hard for me to have to be so mean and nasty to a person whose work ethic and passion for this business is admirable.
Ryan tried to make things easier for me, by telling me to do it as forcefully as possible, so that I could get into character as much as possible. I will admit, it did help make things easier.

Some other random trivia: We filmed 'Fat Kid Massacre: The Short Film Version' in, count 'em, 4 different locations in less then 5 hours!

MISC. INFO:

'Fat Kid Massacre: The Short Film Version' was shot on August 15, 2012. We shot it for a total of $710. The film's main expense was paying for a director of photography. Considering we shot the film in less then 5 hours on a $710 budget, I am proud of it. Is it perfect? No, but I do think it is a fun little short film? Yes.

This was originally intended be a promotional trailer, but things were going so well on set, that we decided to change this into a short film right then and there! It was weird having to try and star in this film, produce and come up with material for the project as we are filming it!

Our Video Logo

I just have to say one thing. I think our video logo came out completely bad as*! Every time I watch this logo, I am like a proud parent watching their child win an award.
